From Ekzyuperi's biography it is possible to learn that probably the first sketch of the boy - "Little Prince" that image which was published together with the fairy tale later, was made by the author in May, 1940, in the letter to the friend Leon Vert. And in 1942, during a dinner with the American publisher of books, Ekzyuperi drew the child's figure with the fluttering scarf on a cloth. Having noticed it, the publisher suggested Ekzyuperi to write the fairy tale with participation of such character.
